Welcome to the world of masny.eu | Design
masny.eu | Design needs a brief word of explanation. It is obviously not a company, it rather is a dilettante one-man show. I have done a lot of different things and never strived to become perfect at any of these (if my future employer reads this - I am talking about design stuff, not business). The upshot was that, let's say 98% of all cases, I devoted my time not for profit, to study organisations, student magazines, church groups or congregations. Which means I did it for the fun of it. Oh, but if you just figured out that I am going to design your work for free... let me think... no! If you still think that you want to put my limited skills to use, drop me a line through my contact form.
The main chunk of this web site consists of a portfolio of what I have done - pure self-expression of course, but then every layouter, designer, or photographer wants to make his or her work visible. It is an ego thing, but maybe someone does really enjoy the stuff. My main motivation to create this current version of design.masny.eu is actually to promote two book projects: One is Vancouver - the way I see it, a pictorial of Greater Vancouverbeing the first photographic work of mine that I converted into a book. The second is the book Nebeltage im Himalaya ("Foggy Days in the Himalayans") written by my sister, which is soon to be published and for which I have done cover design and layout. Yes, I know, the book is German, but most of this site's visitors are German anyhow. And who knows, in case it becomes successful a translation is not out of reach?

Vancouver - the way I see it
Daniel Masny
Walk the vast beaches of Kitsilano, take the SeaBus to North Vancouver, spot the industrial hinterland as well as the nature
retreats. Dive into the city of diversity, enjoy Chinese dragons and awkward pieces of art. This book is a homage to one of
the world’s most beautiful cities and a very personal perspective.
